This Privacy Policy describes how REFERRINGO LLP ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the SocketSense mobile application ("the App") available on Android devices.

SocketSense is a background utility app that monitors charger connection events and battery level on your Android device. The App is designed to function entirely on-device with no external communication of any kind.

SocketSense does not collect any personal information. The App reads the following data solely to provide its core functionality — this data never leaves your device:

• Charger connection status — detected via Android system broadcasts to know when a charger is plugged or unplugged
• Battery level and charging rate — read from the Android battery system to display session stats and trigger low battery alerts
• User preferences — your settings (alert threshold, sound choice, toggle states) stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences

None of this data is associated with your identity, transmitted to any server, or accessible to us in any form.

The data read by SocketSense is used exclusively for the following on-device purposes:

• Detecting charger plug and unplug events to trigger alerts
• Verifying charging status before sending an alert to avoid false alarms
• Displaying charging session statistics within the app interface
• Triggering low battery notifications when battery drops below your set threshold
• Remembering your preferences between app sessions

SocketSense requests the following Android permissions. Each is required for a specific purpose:

• FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE — allows the monitoring service to run in the background reliably
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — allows the app to restart monitoring automatically after the device reboots
• VIBRATE — allows the device to vibrate when an alert is triggered
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — required on Android 13+ to display alert notifications
• REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS — allows the app to request exemption from battery optimization to ensure reliable background operation
• WAKE_LOCK — prevents the CPU from sleeping when processing a charger event

SocketSense does not request INTERNET, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, READ_CONTACTS, READ_CALL_LOG, or any other sensitive permission unrelated to its core function.

SocketSense does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or crash reporting services.

The App does not use:

• Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or any analytics service
• AdMob, Meta Audience Network, or any advertising SDK
• Crashlytics, Sentry, or any crash/error reporting service
• Any social media SDKs or login integrations

All data used by SocketSense is stored locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences system. This includes your alert settings, threshold values, and charging session history.

This data is:

• Stored only on your physical device
• Never transmitted over the internet or any network
• Automatically deleted when you uninstall the app
• Not accessible to us or any third party

Because no data leaves your device, there are no remote servers to secure and no risk of a data breach affecting your information.

SocketSense does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected at all, the App is safe for use by all age groups.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If we ever introduce data collection in a future version, we will notify users prominently before any such change takes effect.
